SSC Full Form

The Full Form of SSC is the “Staff Selection Commission“. In Hindi SSC is known as “कर्मचारी चयन आयोग”.

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is an organisation that comes under the Government of India. SSC recruits staff for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices.

The functions of the SSC were redefined by The Government of India through the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and on 21 May 1999. Then the new constitution and functions of the SSC came into effect on 1 June 1999.

History of SSC

On 26th September 1977, Subordinate Services Commission was renamed as Staff Selection Commission. it was also known as the “Subordinate Services Commission”. However, now there is SSC is Staff Selection Commission. Below you can get information about its current chairman.

At present, the Chairman of SSC is “Sujata Chaturvedi”. She has also been the former IAS. He took over as the chairman of this institute on 5 October 2019.

Establishment of SSC

SSC was established on 4th November 1975. It has been 46 years since its establishment and since 46 years this institute has made many appointments.

Staff Selection Commission headquarters are located in New Delhi. At present, it has seven Regional offices at Prayagraj, Mumbai, Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai, Bangalore and New Delhi. It also has two Sub- Regional offices at Raipur and Chandigarh.

SSC Full Form

Apart from Staff Selection Commission, there is also another full form of SSC that is the “Secondary School Certificate“. In India, the Secondary School Certificate exam conducted by CBSE and some other state boards is also known as the 10th board exam.

SSC CGL Full Form

The Full-Form of SSC CGL is Combined Graduate Level. SSC CGL exam is the most important of the exams conducted by SSC every year.

Only graduate-level candidates participate in this exam. Every year new employees are recruited in many government departments under the SSC CGL exam.

SSC CHSL Full Form

SSC CHSL Full-Form is Combined Higher Secondary Level. Only 10+2 level candidates take part in this exam. SSC CHSL exam is the most important of the exams conducted by SSC every year.
