GATE Full Form

The Full Form of GATE is the “Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering“. In Hindi GATE is known as “इंजीनियरिंग में स्नातक योग्यता परीक्षा”.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national level exam that is jointly conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) for PG course admission in engineering/science.

The exam is conducted on behalf of the Department of Higher Education, Government of India and National Coordination Board, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

GATE exam is conducted in online mode (Computer Based Test) at various centres spread in different cities across India, as well as, in six cities outside India.
